To sustain lone parent groups, effective capacity building at local level is crucial. Developing successful relationships with a range of actors including the business sector is a vital element. In collaboration with Business In the Communities Ireland, OPEN will deliver seminars which will provide a step by step guide to help lone parent groups to work with businesses in their local community to achieve sustainable community development.
For Change
To promote a better understanding of family diversity and support access to appropriate services at local level, OPEN works with statutory agencies and other providers of programmes and services for one parent families in three distinct ways;
- Partnership and consultation
- Provision of expertise and facilities
- Sharing the learning
Although The Future Is Open has been developed by OPEN for OPEN groups, we have developed it in a way so that it can be used to enhance the capacity of any Community and Voluntary Organisation in any community across Ireland and beyond.
All elements of The Future is OPEN are available to our member groups free of charge. However, they can also be available to others at a sliding scale, the details of which can be negotiated directly between OPEN and interested parties.
