Thank God that’s over… all that money spent and it’s over already. I got my daughter a plasma 32″ digital camera and a Whitney Houston ticket. I’m up to my eyes in debt. Thank God I only have one child. I wouldn’t mind the little So and So got money off her aunts and uncles and her father gave her 200 euro (HE’S GREAT NOW) so I’m left broke she’s loaded and he’s great. The sad bit is I know I’ll do it all over again next year. HAPPY XMAS

This is a first – me blogging about being a lone parent and this being the first Christmas Eve since the children  were young that I didn’t cry after ‘doing Santy’.

WHY, I wonder?  I’ve had an awful year work wise and have lost loads of sleep worrying about the future there.  I’ve been worried about my Da’s health – mental and physical.  I’ve been worried about my sister and her kids.

Maybe I wasn’t upset when I finished laying out the Santy piles tonight because the only people I didn’t worry about this year were the kids?  They are both flying it – doing really well at school.  No big issues with friends.  Happy in their nappies – to coin an old phrase – I haven’t had nappies to change since 1999.  It has been some year, but each of them is doing well and if I’m being completely honest, that’s all I really care about.  Happy Christmas.
